Logo design for my BDO guild
For a long time now I’ve been the one my friends turn to to create logos for our online game guilds. We’ve stuck with the same name for some time now and this is the newest rendition of our logo. Simply stated, it features a crowned phoenix on a field of black and red parted per cross.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”1478″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”3/4″][vc_column_text]
The Design
I created the original logo by drawing it by hand and then scanning it into my computer and creating a vector version in Illustrator. That was the extent of it for a while, but more recently when I added the crown (based on guild feedback) I dropped the vector artwork into Photoshop and added both textures and details in the form of lighting and bevels.
The largest challenge with designing a guild logo for Black Desert Online (BDO) is creating a logo that can be scaled down to 60 pixels by 60 pixels and still be readable. It also has to scale up well from there in that game world to not be distorted on fort flags and sails of our guild ships.
I also create special versions of the logo for holidays and special occasions, or when we need an appropriate meme.
